Exterior

Shoot these first, while the light is even and the driveway is clear.

Interior

Follow the floor plan, from the entry to the living spaces to the private rooms.

How it works

Every room counted.Nothing forgotten.

  • Shots per space

Two wides for main rooms, three for the kitchen, one per secondary bedroom and bathroom, and one for each feature you tick.
  • In the order you shoot

Exteriors and aerials first, interiors along the floor plan, twilight last. The numbering follows that order.
  • Fitted to your limit

Details and flex spaces are thinned first, then dropped if the limit is tight. Every main room keeps at least one wide, and anything cut is named.
  • Ready to take with you

Tick shots off as you go, then copy, print or download the list.

How many photos

Coverage first.Then the count.

The right number of photos is the number that covers the home: every space once from its best angle, and the features buyers look for. Past that, each extra frame should show something the gallery has not shown yet. With no limit set, the generator plans:

One-bed condo, 750 sq ft
12 photos
Three-bed home, 1,800 sq ft, garage
23 photos
Four-bed home, 2,900 sq ft, office and yard
32 photos

Your MLS and your packages set the real ceiling, so check your board’s photo rules and enter that number as the limit.

On the day

An order thatprotects the light.

Start outside while the light is even and the driveway is clear; you learn the house before you shoot inside it. Then follow the floor plan, so the finished gallery walks a buyer through the home the way a showing would.

Shoot kitchens and entries at about chest height and drop a little lower in living rooms and bedrooms, keep verticals straight, and bracket anywhere a window matters so the merge can hold both the room and the view. For the evening, the golden hour calculator gives the twilight window for the address and date, and the pre-shoot checklist gets the seller ready before you arrive.

Questions

Asked often.Answered plainly.

What should be on a real estate photography shot list?

The front from at least two angles, the backyard, every main living space, the kitchen from three angles, each bedroom and bathroom, and a frame for every feature buyers look for: a pool, a home office, a finished basement. Finish details come last, once every room is covered.

What order should you photograph a house in?

Exteriors and aerials first, while the light is even and the driveway is clear. Then follow the floor plan from the entry to the living spaces to the bedrooms and baths, so the gallery reads like a walk through the home. Twilight comes last, with every light on.

How many photos do you take per room?

As a working rule, two corner-to-corner wides for main rooms, three angles for the kitchen, and one wide for each secondary bedroom and bathroom. Wide shots carry the space; add details only once every room has its coverage.

What if my MLS or my package limits the number of photos?

Turn on Fit a photo limit and enter the number. The list trims in order: details and flex spaces first, then secondary angles, while every main room keeps at least one wide. Any area it has to cut is named beside the plan, so you can raise the limit if one matters.

Where do drone and twilight shots go in the list?

Aerials sit with the exteriors, at the start of the shoot. Twilight goes in its own group at the very end, after the interiors, because it has to wait for the sun to go down.

Can I print the shot list or send it to an assistant?

Yes. Copy it as text, print a clean sheet with tick boxes, or download it as a file. Add the listing's address and it is printed at the top.
